James Fleming
James Fleming is a postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton with research interests in control and optimisation, especially applied to the automotive sector.
He obtained his DPhil in 2016 from the University of Oxford where he researched algorithms for Model Predictive Control of uncertain systems. Currently, he spends most of his time working on the G-Active (Green, Adaptive Control of Interconnected Vehicles) project, which attempts to use knowledge of driver preferences and behaviour to save fuel and reduce emissions in the energy management of conventional and hybrid vehicles.
